Cold medicines are better not to be given to children

Food and Drug Administration has promulgated results of examination concerning the use of anti-catarrhal means for treatment of children - experts recommend not to give them to children taking into account their inefficiency and presence of side-effects.

According the data of the made examination, children under 6 years shouldn’t be given preparations which contain active substances from decongestant, expectoration, antihistaminic and antitussive groups.

And if earlier physicians discussed only complications after such therapy, last data testify also inefficiency of such treatment at children under 6 years.
