To rescue children
Since 2010 Russia turns to the international standards of perinatal medicine. Doctors will start to struggle for a life of babies whose weight makes only 500 g. Before such kids had no chance: it was fixed as miscarriage. An experiment on nursing of the smallest will be launched in two regions of the country the next year. To tell the truth, experts prophesy a failure.
In the Western Europe prematurely born kids weighting 500-600 g were rescued in the middle 90s. In Russia doctors tried to help only to kilogram babies. Absence of the equipment and desire prevented rescue of smaller kids. Children who have been given birth with underweight, were not registered, and were fixed as an abortive material. It allowed the country to support rather low parameters of infantile death rate. In Russia it made 11 %, in Europe - 9-13 %.
On the wave of general demographic campaign Ministry of Health’s officials have decided to change the situation. For this purpose it is planned to buy the necessary equipment and medicines. Doctors of Novosibirsk and Irkutsk regions will work in accordance with the international standards the first.
