British doctor Vasudevy Reddy from University of Portsmouth has conducted the research and revealed that children consciously deceive parents even at a very young age.
Earlier psychologists believed that developing mental abilities do not allow small children to tell lies up to achievement of four-year-old age. However the new research shows, that it is not so.
In the experiment participated more than 50 children and their parents who told the experts the truth about their off-springs still at the beginning of the research. It appeared, that kids start to lie since six months, and do it differently. Psychologists have managed to determine seven categories of the deceit used since half-year till three years.
Doctor Vasudevy marks, that lies begins with fake cry and pretended laughter, thus, babies for sure draw attention of their parents.
It is necessary to note, that fake cry is one of the earliest forms of a deceit, and babies use it even when all is normal. Since eight months children master more complicated deceits, for example, hide the forbidden action or try to distract attention of the daddy and mum. In two years kids can already bluff to avoid threat of punishment.
