Sleep or its lack was for a long time the most-discussed part of baby care.
Parents often worry about their baby’s sleep, compare amount of sleep hours within their own children and others. But they shouldn’t forget about peculiarity of their own child. Though there are some standard for each age, all numbers are averages by large groups of children of particular ages.
There’s no certain number of hours required by all children in a certain age group. Two-year-old child might sleep from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, whereas 2-year-old child is just as alert the next day after sleeping from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Still, sleep is very important to a child’s health. The link between a child’s lack of sleep and his behavior isn’t always obvious. When adults are tired, they can either be peevish or have low energy, but kids often are hyper, disagreeable, and have extremes in their behavior.
Most children’s sleep requirements is within a some range of hours based on their age, but each child is a unique individual with distinct sleep demands. Here are some approximate numbers of sleep hours based on age.
